zormatoform gave me Veronica Mars, Pushing Daisies, and Torchwood.



Veronica Mars

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?

Abigail Nussbaum's Veronica Mars essays, which means, yes, I was spoiled for the first two seasons before I saw them. This did not have an adverse effect on my opinion of the show, which I love.

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

Depends what you mean. I'm not involved in the fandom per se - I've found very few fics that I like - but I'll probably love the show forever.

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

Oh, God, it’s hard to choose. I love almost everything in season one; I really liked “Drinking the Kool-Aid,” which was the episode with the cult, and “An Echolls Family Christmas,” and the final episode, and really just everything.

I also really love “Spit & Eggs,” the season three episode where Veronica catches the Evil Rapist Team; I remember sitting on the edge of my seat watching it.

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?

Not really. I've always kind of wanted to write a Veronica fic, but it's hard to think of anything that would do justice to the show.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

Oh HELL yes. I actively proselytize for Veronica Mars – no, I haven’t quite gotten to the “standing on street corners and passing out bootleg copies of the pilot” stage, but I’ve dragged two of my friends through the show. (They were of course properly grateful.)

Pushing Daisies

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?

Honestly, this one is all visualthinker11’s fault. She made icons about it, she showed me a trailer on Youtube, and after that it was just inevitable.

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

Given how little source material there is I’ll probably move on eventually, though it pains me to say it. Few things are forever, sadly.

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

“Girth”! The Halloween episode with the headless horseman and Olive the ex-jockey! It was amazing. Ned’s epiphany! Olive and Chuck versus the bad guy! I can’t remember what Emerson did but I’m sure it was great too.

Oh, also the episode with the dandelion car. That was wicked cool.

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?

I’ve written some fic for it.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

Sure. I’m a bit puzzled by this question, honestly. Why wouldn’t I want more people to get into a fandom I love?


Torchwood

01: What got you into this fandom in the first place?

The fic. I read buckets and buckets of Torchwood fic before I’d even watched the show, so I knew the plot of most of the first season going in. (You may have noticed that this is a trend.)

I have to say, I think the fic is more awesome and emotionally affecting than rather a lot of Torchwood – but what great source material to write fic from.

02: Do you think you'll stay in this fandom or eventually move on?

I don’t read much Torchwood fic any more, and I haven’t written any in ages, so I guess I have moved on; but I think if I rewatched it I would probably have the sudden overwhelming urge to get back involved, so I don’t really know.

03: Favorite episodes/books/movies/etc.?

“Something Borrowed,” because Gwen’s wedding is hilarious. I think the Torchwood writers had the skill set to write a very funny show, but wasted it trying to be creepy and dark.

04: Do you participate in this fandom (fanfiction, graphics, discussions)?

I did; at least half of my fics are Torchwood.

05: Do you think that more people should get into this fandom?

Sure! Why not? There’s enough sandbox here for half the planet; the Torchwood writers did a great job setting up a world with lots of fascinating possibilities.

Personally I've never seen the point of having different journals for personal stuff and icons - I just post everything I have in one place & figure anyone whose here just for the fic can ignore everything else - but a lot of people have multiple journals, so *shrug* whatever floats your boat.

I'd be interested in reading your fandom-y thoughts (or whatever you want to write about), however you decide to post them.

Re: West Wing: Kristen Chenoweth is in the last two seasons (I think; it might be the last three); she joined after the show had gone downhill. The earlier seasons have Martin Sheen, Allison Janney, Bradley Whitford (who was way cute when he was younger)...it really is worth watching if you have time.

Oh! West Wing also has Dule Hill, who is also in Psych! If you've seen Psych.

Burn Notice is fun, but the fandom's almost non-existent. Your mileage may vary.

thanks for the interest! i'll keep it in mind.

i haven't seen psych, but i just got the first disc from netflix (summer = best time to find new fandoms/relive old ones) so that may very well change.

Just to warn you, Psych's first episode is very unrepresentative of the show; I think episodes 2 and 6 are better representatives of what Psych is all about.
