I've got a view of the river, too, if I stand on tiptoe to peer through the window; and if tiptoe is too much effort, I've got a view of spider-black branches covered with snow, and the sky.

I think I approve of this room.

If you're living in the garret, you had better also make friends with the mice and the visiting doves and sparrows. And spiders, speaking of spider-black branches.

I have a cookie jar all ready to bribe them. It should work on everything but the spiders, but I figure the sparrows can take care of them.
