Via [livejournal.com profile] xferinoc: Hetalia. Oh my God, Hetalia. It's a manga in which the countries of the world are personified as dashing young men, who proceed act out World Wars I and II. Sort of. Germany is way too appealing, though. Okay, as far as historical accuracy's concerned Hetalia's appalling, but that doesn't matter because it's like CRACK. It's so cracktastic I can't even decide on a favorite character. Maybe it's just my latent nationalism, but America is pretty awesome. Also Russia, in a sociopathic sort of way. Italy and Germany...

If you click through, you want to click on the scanlation links, unless you read Japanese.

Photos of Abandoned Amusement Parks in Asia. Does what it says on the tin. It's funny how even kitschy things become beautiful and melancholy when they fall apart.

Last, the Beck Depression Inventory, which I took as part of a psych experiment today (it would be worth continuing to take psych classes to participate in the experiments alone). I kept writing marginal notes arguing with the test's frustrating lack of a midpoint between "happy-go-lucky" and "mildly depressed," but I guess that isn't really important if you're trying to measure depression.

I've never been fond of multiple choice psych exams, which never capture the nuances, but I like taking them anyway so I thought I'd share.

HEROOOOOOO!!!

I have a bunch of potential icons and fanart saved and it is so so like crack. If you haven't spent any time on the fan lj ([livejournal.com profile] hetalia), you ought to. Some of it is crazy fandom stuff but a lot of the art and fic and whatnot is... surprisingly good and also crackful.

I haven't made if over to [livejournal.com profile] hetalia yet, but I ought to.

I'm kind of afraid that if I let myself get too into this I'll start writing Italy/Germany fics or something. It would be a poor use of time I should spend studying Russian. (Then again, if the fic involved Russia...)

I love that Japanese park that's, like, in the forest.

And the sad, fallen Batman!

I know! I want to go to that park and just walk around. It looks so surreal.

I want to see dinosaurs roaming amongst the abandoned rides - thay would make epic film sets.
