How much did I enjoy tonight's Agent Carter episode? The answer is A LOT.

HOW MUCH DID I ENJOY PEGGY PUNCHING HOWARD IN THE FACE? The answer is again A LOT.

(And everyone noticed the part where Howard states that his feelings for Steve are just the same as Peggy's feelings for Steve, right? CANON.)

Although probably my favorite thing this episode was the scene where Peggy's getting dinner and it turns out all the girls have their own methods of smuggling food out of the dining room for later. The one with a gravy pocket in her handbag, score! (And her neighbor at the table who was like, "Could you make me one for pickles?") See, Peggy, more signs that you should recruit them all for espionage!

Although her neighbor who knows how to break men's necks with her thighs clearly doesn't need to be recruited, as she is already all-espionage all the time. Part of Leviathan? An early Hydra recruit? Possibly sent by someone to watch over Peggy, to make sure the wrong people don't hurt her (and possibly ensure that the right people will?)

Mostly I am hoping they will team up, NGL. (Also it would be nice if I knew her name. Was that Helen?)

Finally: anyone want to take bets that the little Russian assassin girl in next week's promo is either bitty!Natasha or one of bitty!Natasha's predecessors in the Black Widow program?

OH AND I AM EXCITED FOR THE HOWLING COMMANDOES.

They both felt about Steve in the same way! Awwww.

The ballet girl next door is called Dottie (and I think she was also the one who asked about making a bag for pickles). I never even thought of her teaming up with Peggy but now I want that. Maybe in an AU. Actually the way she fought reminded me of Natasha... maybe she's a Black Widow prototype? ETA: uh and she is a ballet dancer ok I'm sticking to this Black Widow theory now.

I am SO EXCITED for the Howling Commandos. *weeps softly*

Right? TEXT. Although poor Howard, I don't think Steve reciprocated his feelings.

And I like the Black Widow theory! If Leviathan is related to whatever killed the Russian soldiers at the battle-that-wasn't-a-battle, then clearly the Soviet government would want to try to keep an eye on it. Hence, Dottie.

I wonder if they realize she occasionally kills people because she wants their weapons. Maybe they consider it an acceptable malfunction?

Ugh, I love how raw & imperfect Peggy is.

And what's interesting is that we've now seen her KO at least two guys with one punch in canon, but she didn't go for that with Howard. She went for the punch that would ugly up his face for the longest, lol.

I think what was so nice about the scene about the girls eating was that well, that it was a scene about a bunch of girls eating! That they got to have cute, chatty, friendly, useful conversations with each other, and also, like, seriously, women on tv never eat!

Peggy knew that nothing would hurt Howard as much as a punch right in the vanity! Every time he looks in the mirror he will have to remember how much he sucks.

And yes, I loooooved the eating scene. Because they're all talking together and they're funny and it doesn't have that competitive vibe that TV writers so often put in scenes with multiple women - like they can't imagine that women can be interesting if they're not at each other's throats? But no, they're just happily comparing their methods for sneaking food out of the hall!

Yeah, not just that they weren't competitive, but that they were supportive, too! (take more rolls, they last 3 days! chicken pocket, so cool! gravy cup?! PLZ MAKE ME ONE TOO THNX!!!)

I watched this! It was the second-ever episode of the show that I'd seen. (The first-ever was the previous episode.)

I liked that same scene in the cafeteria where everyone has their ways of smuggling food.

And I definitely want to know more about Peggy's competent neighbor and guardian angel.

Is it confusing watching it without having seen the first two episodes? I feel like it's a fairly tightly knit show.

I'm curious if Peggy's neighbor is a guardian angel! Oh, she protected Peggy this time...but was that by design, or did she just really, really want that gun?

It wasn't too confusing. I got that she was an agent, relegated to lunch duty because she's a woman (when really she's accomplishing all kinds of things in secret), and that the agency thinks Stark is a traitor.

I was thinking of the age difference between Howard Stark and Tony Stark, if they're father and son. If Howard here is, what, 30? (Or do you think he's younger?) And it's 1946, then how old was he when Tony was born, if Tony is, say, 40 (?) in the present of the movies. (Let's say that present is 2014. If Tony is 40 in 2014, that means he was born in 1974, which means that Howard would have been 58 ... which I guess does happen.

Yeah, Howard is Tony's father. I don't know exactly how old Howard was when Tony was born, but he must have been getting up there. Howard might be in his late twenties in Agent Carter, but I don't think he can be too much younger than that.
