Banana Bread + Borgias
Apr. 9th, 2013 09:50 amAttempted to make banana bread yesterday. Nearly set the oven on fire when the pan tipped over and slopped batter on the coil, because I am talented like that. (I would like to say my quick thinking in turning off the oven saved the situation, but in fact I'm pretty sure that the fire simply ran out of fuel.)
Fortunately! The bread was mostly done, so I salvaged the heels and the bottom half and am having banana bread fingers with Nutella for breakfast.
When did Juan and Cesare start to hate each other? Not that they got along so well last season, but there's a gap between "Cesare thinks Juan is kind of incompetent and Juan likes to make fun of how Cesare is a priest," and Juan and Cesare trying to skewer each other in the armory.
Also, I am sad about Alfonso the prince of Naples. Sure, he was sort of braying and unstable, but his father kept his enemies' stuffed bodies in a room set up like the Last Supper, so I'd be kind of worried if he wasn't.
At any rate it was very mean of the French king to torture him to death. I kept hoping that the king would have his fun just by making Alfonso cry while give him a tour of the torture chambers, but nooooo. Apparently spiriting Alfonso off to France and imprisoning him for life wasn't enough, he had to die terribly. BAD KING, NO COOKIE.
On the other hand, the quasi-classical costumes at the feast in Rome were beautiful.
