More Honeytrap
Jul. 23rd, 2019 02:02 pmMore Honeytrap! I hit 50,000 words this week, although progress has slowed because I've hit the point where I really need to write some of the actual investigation. Have decided that the Soviet & American agent have been assigned to work together to investigate an assassination attempt that occurred during Khrushchev's trip to America (the assassination attempt is fictional but the trip 100% actually happened, and Peter Carlson wrote an excellent book about it: K Blows Top: A Cold War Comic Interlude Starring Nikita Khrushchev, America's Most Unlikely Tourist), because neither side trusts the other to look into it properly.
My working theory right now is that the would-be assassin is a Raskolnikov type; the difficulty is having him leave behind something at the scene of the crime that will enable them to find him... but not too quickly.
Anyway! Here are your weekly snippets. Tell me your thoughts and your feelings!
Huddling for warmth. I'm not sure this scene will make the final cut, but... huddling for warmth! How could I not share that?
A little light gunplay. No, the other kind of gunplay. Not safe for work, not good gun safety in general. Hot and sweet.
