Graduation

Graduation: splendid. The sitting for two hours while everyone walked across stage was unenlivening, but the procession at the beginning was great fun: we walked down the aisle at the center of the tent, which was lined with all the professors clapping madly, and behind the audience giving us all a standing ovation.

I love being applauded.

Also, I need to research which grad schools have the best (for which read: most splendidly gaudy) academic regalia. This is an eminently rational basis for deciding which one to attend.

Yes exactly! I also want a grad school that uses those little velvet hats instead of mortarboards. They look so much cooler!

I might go with bright red Cornell (http://www.news.cornell.edu/stories/May08/phdRegalia.jpg) (added bonus: one of my high school friends is going there) or orange striped Princeton (http://www.oap.ucsb.edu/images/tobin_robe.jpg).

So many beautiful choices!

Ooh, I **love** the Cornell one. Princeton's reminds me too much of my high school's colors (and, weirdly and coincidentally, our current town's high school colors).
