Scrubs season 4

I just finished watching Season 4 of Scrubs! It made me so happy! I loved Molly so much! Except the writers sent her away right after she and Eliot became best buddies. SO SAD. (And they made Molly almost hook up with JD. Whyyyyyyyyyy writers whyyyyyy?) And I really liked Kylie too, except the writers got rid of her also with the help of JD who needs, like, so much therapy.
But so anyway, I went bushwhacking through the wilds of Scrubs fic to find the awesome fics that clearly must have been written about them.
Ha. Hahaha. AAAAHAHAHAAAAHAAAAAAAAA.
Sometimes, it turns out that you are watching one show, and fandom is watching another. So I'm watching the YAY NEW CHARACTERS show, and the JD'n'Turk show, and the Turk/Carla show, and the ELIOT IS AWESOME show (excuse me while I wave my Eliot flag)...
And the rest of fandom is clearly watching the Perry Cox show. Or possibly the JD/Cox show.
WHY FANDOM WHY?
Now, I've mostly gotten over wanting to drown Cox in a bucket, because he is a good doctor and he does have a shriveled heart hidden somewhere behind his spleen; but he's still an emotionally abusive jackass with a God complex who can barely unbend enough to be nice to his wife after her brother died.
(Jordan and Cox's relationship makes me sad. Clearly they're both doing their best to make it work, and in that odd way it's rather sweet...but their best is cruel sarcastic sniping, aimed to devastating effect because they know each other much too well.)
And if Cox was with JD it would be SO MUCH WORSE because Jordan gives as good as she gets, while JD would be all *sadface* while Cox shredded him. How do people get fluffy wuffy OTP from that?

Somehow people seem to find characters whose emotional life is straightforward to be less challenging, maybe? (All the question marks and maybes because it's pure conjecture on my part)
I totally agree with you on the ??? of Cox/JD. Cox absolutely must be kept in check by someone like Jordan.
