I may or may not have told you this, but I also went to the Norman Rockwell museum for the first time this summer! I've seen his most famous paintings, but I was delighted by the more— casual art is not the right word, but the ones focused on everyday domestic scenes; there was one showing a whole family crammed into a car on the way to and driving back from a day out that I found myself standing in front of for a while, appreciating all the little details and great facial expressions.
(And the Jo/Bhaer painting! And the interview with Ruby Bridges playing on a screen next to "The Problem We All Live With"! Was the non-Rockwell exhibit on the children's artist/puppeteer (?) still on?)
