I actually have read The Diamond in the Window - actually, my mom read it to us lo these many years ago, so I weeded out a copy that had sentimental value! Good grief. I was trying to make the books fit the available shelf space...
I usually don't buy books I haven't read (I say, thinking sadly of my shelf that is now three-quarters full of books I haven't read...) but usually I only weed them out after I've given them a try. This does mean that often they linger on and on...
