No, wait, I can't have two characters like that, the readers might revolt. Perhaps I should think about this a bit more..."
These Guenever character notes also contain some compare/contrast between Guenever and Elaine, in which he muses that Elaine has nothing to offer Lancelot but her faithful love, which makes me wonder if he based Elaine partly on the only other female creature that he knew well, a.k.a. his dog Brownie.
