To me at my point in my career, the idea of someone asking me to do an interview or book event sounds thrilling (universe, take note!) but I can see how after nearly twenty years of it, LMA would have had it up to HERE with autograph seekers knocking on her door at all hours. "When do they expect me to write these sequels they keep clamoring for when I'm snowed under with letters they also want me to answer?" one envisions her fuming.
I definitely can come up with lists of things I would want in a book... but the book still might not work for me if those things were badly executed, and sometimes the things that really speak to you in a story are things you wouldn't have thought to put on a list at all! There's a certain serendipity to finding the right book.
