osprey_archerGoing to Oxford tomorrow! If all goes well, I will be having a very late lunch at The Eagle and Child, which is where Tolkien and C. S. Lewis and the writers' group the Inklings met to drink and chat about writing.
I am taking my notebook along. Just in case.
I'm also taking along George MacDonald's The Princess and the Goblin to read on the train. MacDonald was one of both Tolkien and Lewis's favorite writers - in The Great Divorce, MacDonald basically acts as Lewis's Virgil - so I figure there must be something to him. WE SHALL SEE.
