VERY puzzled by why the middle section abruptly fell into place, but I'm not going to argue with success! I think I've just got the snowball fight scene to write (Russell leads the boys in a snowball mock battle, apparently a popular for of entertainment for Civil War soldiers) and then it links up with the Valentine's sequence which is almost entirely written.
I may keep the YA novel on the side to work on whenever I just Can't with Sleeping Beauty. Clearly switching projects helped knock a few things loose.
