Oh, that IS a hard choice. On the one hand, a Mary Stewart thriller with a breathless chase through evocative countryside and a B plot where the accountant falls for the chocolatier who initially seems implicated in the cocaine smuggling but then they team up to bring down the criminals! On the other hand, gay Eva Ibbotson, set in Vienna and linked to Vienna's glorious and elegant past in the person of the Habsburg scion, whose clever skill as an accountant (a much-mocked and undervalued profession, akin to Ibbotson's housekeepers!) saves the chocolatier from the horrible corporation!
Given that neither of these books will exist, I say we go for broke and yearn for both.
