Phineas is a dutiful son and does not expostulate on the cruelty of this ruling but COME ON, PHINEAS'S DAD. John is the ONE source of joy in Phineas's life. How can Phineas's father be so cruel as to take him away for what was obviously an honest mistake? (And on some level he must know that, given that he retains John as a business associate!)
