I read The Queen of Attolia first, and I don't remember batting an eye at Gen getting his hand chopped off. But I think it would have shocked me if I'd started with The Thief.
When it came to Gen/Attolia, I was like, "I'm a little skeptical but enemies to lovers is completely my jam so this is amazing."
