This makes me morbidly curious about Renault's relationship with her own mother, although not quite curious enough to seek out a biography. But I can already see the day when I do so looming on the horizon.
Maybe Return to Night will be my next Renault, actually. It looks like it's not about war, which definitely bumps it up the list right now.
