September Writing and October News

osprey_archerMost important writing news this month: The Larks Still Bravely Singing is available for preorder! It comes out on October 4.
This month I’ve been packing/cleaning/preparing for the move, so I haven’t gotten a huge amount of writing done. However, I do feel that I’ve finally got a good solid start on Sleeping Beauty: it’s working better now that I’ve finally stopped trying to force a forced proximity situation. Russell is already very dependent on Andrew as his main emotional attachment figure in the 20th century (there is a scene where Russell is all “You’re mother, father, friend and lover to me” and Andrew is like “What the FUCK does that MEAN,” and that’s basically what Russell is getting at), and making Russell dependent on Andrew for food and shelter as well was just too much.
Also, I’ve dealt with all the petty administrative tasks pertaining to the publication of The Larks Still Bravely Singing (I updated my backmatter AND my website AND got a mailing ready, all before the actual release!), written historical notes for The Threefold Tie and Honeytrap, and formatted a paperback for Enemies to Lovers. I suspect this will sell two copies and one of them will be to me, but my collection of my own books has looked incomplete without it, so it must be done.
