The Threefold Tie
Apr. 3rd, 2020 08:11 amDo you need some m/m/f historical romance goodness in your life? LOOK NO FURTHER. The Threefold Tie is NOW AVAILABLE.
It's an m/m/f historical romance set a few years after the Civil War; war comrades Jack and Everett ended their love affair when Everett married Sophie, and Jack resigned himself to pining quietly forever… until he fell in love with Sophie, too. Will they figure out a way out of this tangle? (Obviously.) Will they have sex? (Yes. This is spicier than my other books have been.) Will the amount of strawberries in the book live up to the promise of the cover?? My friends, not only will there be strawberries, there will be cherries too.
I feel that I ought to mention, in the spirit of full disclosure, that an important and lengthy bit of backstory involves a character coming down with a bad cold… just in case you don’t want to read about someone coughing right now. If, on the other hand, you want nothing more than to read about a character being tended with unexpected tenderness (Jack. It’s Jack whose fevered brow is tenderly bathed), this is exactly the book you’re looking for.

Date: 2020-04-04 07:20 pm (UTC)Oh, and Miss Stanton! Sometime when you're taking prompts I would love to find out more about her, because of the bit where Everett is so dismissive of her but Jack has noticed how she's always drawing breath to speak just too late to join the conversation, because she's shy, and not a wax doll at all. I hope it transpires that she has married well.
If not for spoilers I could now copy-paste much of this into my eventual Amazon review!

Date: 2020-04-04 08:24 pm (UTC)I originally had a bit more about Miss Stanton in the book; IIRC her mother was hoping to marry her most beautiful daughter to a congressman or something like that (her mother being eminently suited herself to the very public life of a congressman's wife, who would always be hosting parties and dinners and mediating political discussions as she dishes up the soup), but in fact Miss Stanton escaped this fate and married a rather retiring (doctor? businessman? lawyer?) professional of some sort who lives in the suburbs of New York City. They live quietly together and barely ever entertain; the former Miss Stanton spends much time in her garden, and they have very happy.
