I feel that "Night on Bald Mountain" - indeed, many Disney sequences that I remember as deeply terrifying - are actually not terrifying at all, or at worst only mildly frightening, when you see them as an adult. I'm not sure if Disney animators realized how completely terrifying some of this stuff was from a small child's point of view.
