Yesterday I hit 25,000 words on my NaNo. The month isn’t even half over yet and I’m already halfway there! Although of course now that I’ve said this, there’s still half a month in which the story could run off the rails and I could fail NaNoWriMo yet again.

I don’t really think it will, though. I’ve finished the flashback part (20,000 words about their friendship in junior high. I hope it’s not too long. I just got inspired), and now I’m working on the present-day part, in which Ashlin and Olivia, now in college, run into each other quite by accident when Olivia is on a college-sponsored trip to Florence with her art history class.

Can they rebuild their friendship? And perhaps kindle… something more???? In between stuffing themselves with gelato and tiny cups of coffee and those delectable waffles slathered with Nutella that they sell around the Florence city center?

My working title is Ashlin & Olivia. Unless a really brilliant alternative occurs to me, I believe I’ll keep it.

The names Ashlin and Olivia are both beautiful. A title with those two names is a good title!

Oh, well done! Good luck with the rest - it certainly sounds as though you will have a good novel out of it fairly soon anyway, even if it should somehow falter before the end of NaNo. (And no reason it should!)

Well, you'll still have won NaNo, anyway, but good luck with keeping it under control!
