In this adaptation they seem to spend most of their time discussing why they aren't more than friends. Laurie is all "We have to have this out, Jo," and Jo is like "NO WE DO NOT, WE HAVE HAD THIS OUT FIVE TIMES IN THIS EPISODE ALONE."
Actually, that may have been what I was thinking. Jo expresses it by shoving a cushion between them on the couch and gazing longingly at the door.
