Shelving completed! (for now)
Jan. 12th, 2017 08:51 pmI have all the books I transported to my apartment shelved! Unfortunately there are at least two more boxes of books still back at my parents' house (and probably not enough shelf space for them all here, hmmm...)
Anyway! I thought I would post pictures of my shelves, because who doesn't love spying on other people's bookshelves?

This shelf is the first one you see as you walk in the doorway, and I thought, after all, why not put all my classics there to create a good/imposing first impression? My Austen collection is missing Sense and Sensibility and Pride and Prejudice; I ought to correct this at some point.

Lots of books! It is separated pretty neatly into "children's books" and "nonfiction books about travel and the nature of evil," which pretty well sums up my book collection.

These are my books of Australian origin. Okay, not all the Obernewtyn books are physically from Australia, buuuut I couldn't separate them from her other books - I think I own more Isobelle Carmody books than I do from any other single authoror, at least, her books take up more shelf space, because they have ballooned out soooo long in recent years.
I still need to read the final Obernewtyn book. I'm almost dreading it in a way, because I've waited for the end of the series for so very long; I've just got to set aside a day to do it.

Date: 2017-01-14 01:41 pm (UTC)This happens even if I've been there before and have already investigated the bookshelf. I just have to investigate it again.

Date: 2017-01-14 01:40 pm (UTC)The big shelf is probably a lost cause, though. Maybe once I bring down the final box of books and fill it up, I'll post a few close up pictures of it.

Date: 2017-01-14 02:55 am (UTC)(when I have more books than shelves, I just stack them up against a wall. This is Not Recommended).
