Honestly that reads to me like the kind of interpretation that someone who believes all political art is "tainted" would come up with. "Sure, it's named after a city bombed by fascists, but if it's merely an anti-fascist painting, it's practically propaganda, not true art! And it's by Picasso, so it has to be true art! So...it's about... self-assertion that liberates the human being. And protects them against overwhelming forces like political crime and war. Because those dismembered people definitely look like their self-assertion protected them!"
