Today was a mixed day for Reeses. In the morning I went to Dunkin Donuts, intending to get one of their Reeses doughnuts which were amaaaaaaazing, filled with peanut butter with sweet chocolate glaze on top, all in a soft yeast doughnut - but, as the past tense has no doubt warned you, they seem to have been discontinued. NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO. Dunkin Donuts, I would have bought so many of those!!!!

But on the other hand when I was at Target later I saw Reeses cups stuffed with Reeses pieces, which I had heard about but never seen with my own eyes, so of course I had to give them a try. I was quite suspicious about it until the first bite, but actually they were good! They didn't overstuff them with Reeses pieces - I was, I must confess, envisioning a chocolate shell barely held together over a tightly-pressed cylinder of Reeses pieces - but just had a smattering of them through the peanut butter, which gave it a satisfying crunch.

While I am reviewing candy (clearly I should add a candy review feature to this blog. I have thought about doing reviews of new Starbucks food, given that I eat so much of it), I should also tip my hat to the TimTams [livejournal.com profile] littlerhymes sent me, which are like fancy melt-in-your-mouth KitKats. I approve!

Mmm, candy and baking reviews would be great, albeit envy-inducing.

Haha, I'm glad you approve - they are a national icon! I should say I sent you the tiny versions. The normal sized ones are about twice as big, and you buy them in packets of a dozen or so (i.e. extremely tempting and dangerous batches).

I mean really, the problem with baking reviews is that so many of them would be five star that it might get a bit dull. "Made chocolate chip cookies. V. chocolatey! A+++ would bake again."

I shared the TimTams with my friend Becky and she was super excited to try them BTW. I think she read about them somewhere and always wondered what they tasted like.

Ooooh TimTams! They are the actual BEST SNACK ever invented. I hope you had them the One True Way, ie biting off the tips and sucking hot coffee through them which makes it absolutely melt in your mouth, and if you didn't, make sure to try that next time.

(Also, so as not to be completely out of the blue, hello! I spent the last week reading Reciprocity and have not yet left a comment because I suck and also I don't know how to formulate words well enough to explain how amazing it was but like - I should really not have started reading it during the work-week because I could not stop reading. I am now going over your tumblr tags and like, alternatively exploding with joy at all the little ficlets in there and growing RUMLOW YOU ASSHOLE (ugh you asshole) (sorry just read the lightsabres one), and like, just happy at this point that you exist, so hello. You deserve ALL THE TIMTAMS. So - hi :-))

I shall have to try it! I don't drink coffee, but perhaps it will work the same way with tea or hot chocolate?

I'm glad you enjoyed Reciprocity! I should finish collecting all the little ficlets over at AO3; I posted a bunch of them there but then sort of tapered off with it, oops.

I say go for hot chocolate - tea works better for me with biscuits or cookies rather than with a chocolate flavor. Nevertheless the TimTams will melt just the same.

And haha I thought I'd read everything when I finished what was on AO3... and then stayed up until like 3AM reading more and more on your tumblr /o\ Basically, movie reactions and birthday celebrations. That really is ALL I WANT in life.

Are the longer Tim Tams hollow? I have little baby Tim Tams and I don't think they would work very well as straws.

Not hollow, but definitely airier and meltier in the center. I'm not sure how big the small ones are (never seen them), but you can see the "original" proportions here (https://s-media-cache-ak0.pinimg.com/originals/5a/ec/a0/5aeca0254e24e0ccfabb06c0159e4fc1.jpg) (and the kind of airy/moussy filling here (https://alifelikeours.files.wordpress.com/2015/01/a9e1_timtambiscuitbite__minisite.jpg?w=640))

...and now I want a Tim Tam /o\ I'm from Israel, and over time Tim Tams became so popular in Israel by word-of-mouth of Israeli tourists in Australia, that the company started to produce a line of kosher Tim Tams so they cold be imported here in bulk.

/is maybe obsessed
