First: my father, blessings be upon him, has in fact been saving my letters. He has a stash of them in his sweater drawer.

Second: I'm home for spring break, and as this is the only day my spring break overlaps with anyone else's we got together and made pancakes for dinner. Sadly we had no buttermilk for the pancakes (what? You make your pancakes without buttermilk? BLASPHEMY. Buttermilk pancakes are fluffier, moister, and infinitely more delicious than non-buttermilk pancakes. Don't let's even start on the evils of pancake mixes), but we made up for it by adding a tablespoon of lemon juice for every cup of milk.

So we ate pancakes and talked and giggled and went to an ice cream parlor where we convinced the employees that we're a little bit insane, which we are, so it was all good.

Third: I am almost done with the first season of Psych. It hasn't made me ship Shawn/Lassiter, but I understand now why people who saw the first season first would: Shawn's teasing is easy to read as flirting, especially given the concern he shows for Lassiter's well-being (taking a case pro bono, for which he will not get credit, to boost Lassiter's belief in his own crime-fighting abilities?), and Lassiter is just so painfully tsundere.

Lassiter needs to be magically not fictional so that I can marry him.

It's the curse of fictional characters: they always remain inexplicably non-existent.

LOL...I have this mental image of your father hiding the letters from your mother for the sake of their preservation. It's all very downlow.

Also, I want to second the buttermilk thing. Between pancakes and mashed potatoes and cornbread, I always have buttermilk around.

My father, the superspy. :p

And yes, buttermilk is brilliant. If I were going to proselytize for anything, I think it would be buttermilk.
