I got the final disc of season 2 of Orphan Black today and there is nothing that I want to do more than bake a batch of chocolate chip and cranberry scones and spend the evening finishing the season.

Will Rachel burn the world down in a fit of rage? Will Allison and Donnie work things out? (I've become weirdly invested in Allison and Donnie working things out, even though they are both terrible people who might possibly make each other more terrible.) Will Sarah realize that abandoning her twin sister was a TERRIBLE IDEA THAT WILL COME BACK TO BITE HER SO HARD, WTF SARAH WHAT YOU WERE THINKING.

I'm assuming she was thinking "If I go into the police station to rescue Helena then I might get arrested too," but still! She could have tried a bit harder to get her back instead of abandoning her so completely that she doesn't even know that Helena has decided to go with the terrifying cultists who are probably going to impregnate her, and I really don't think that Helena is parent material. But at least THEY actually want her.

However, Sarah has a lot on her plate protecting Kira and trying to decide whether she can trust Mrs. S (let me say right now that I love Mrs. S, I love the show has a middle-aged action hero lady with hardcore spy skills, I can't think of any other shows that do this and it is AMAZEBALLS), so I can't blame her too much for dropping the ball. Probably she figured that Helena can look after herself well enough.

And speaking of looking after herself, HOW CUTE was Helena with that guy in the bar, telling him her weirdass life story which she lifted wholesale from her sister clones? And actually there's something weirdly adorable about Helena chatting with the Barbie doll head that she's carefully trimming to look like Rachel, even though she's sitting there planning to assassinate Rachel at the time. HELENA YOU NEED FRIENDS AND HUGS AND SO MUCH THERAPY. If only I had any faith that the cultists would give her any of that.

And, most urgently of all: WILL COSIMA SURVIVE?

I thiiiink the answer is almost certainly yes, but they just killed Aldous Leakey who I was certain had immunity as Affable Yet Terrifying Head Antagonist, so who knows really.

Only I'm also supposed to go line-dancing tonight, and not just line-dancing class but actual for-real dancing at a lodge, and I'm sure it would actually be good for me to go out and see people and socialize - or hover uneasily along the wall between dances, that sounds more like something I would do - and, well, Orphan Black sounds more pleasant.

But if I didn't happen to have a convenient Orphan Black DVD, I'm sure I would convince myself that watching Graceland on Netflix instant or reading The Road to Little Dribbling or possibly just refreshing Tumblr endlessly sounded more pleasant, too. I should really go out there and dance. Embrace discomfort, self! I bet everyone else has the wrong shoes too!

Maybe I'll go for an hour and then come back and then make the scones and watch Orphan Black. The butter needs time to soften, anyway.
