Galavant season 2 finale
Jan. 31st, 2016 09:26 pmLast year, when Galavant ended on a total cliffhanger, I felt so bitter about it that I was on the fence about whether I wanted a second season.
This year, it wraps nearly everything up, and ZOMG I want season 3 like burning. (Even though I am probably not going to get it.)
In particular, I want to see Maddalena's training in the dark arts so so so much. And also Gareth and Sid going on their quest to save her from her own evil impulses, although I'm not sure if it will ultimately be a successful quest - although I'm waaaaaay more into Gareth/Maddalena than I would have thought if you told me about it at the beginning of the season. Terrible people couples! Maybe becoming slightly less terrible through each other, but still pretty awful!
I think it Maddalena had been redeemed at the end of this season, it would have been a bit too sudden to be believable... But I actually think they could sell me on it if they spend season 3 on her reformation (well, partial reformation, I wouldn't want her to entirely lose her evil edge), in much the same way that they spent a large portion of season 2 reforming Richard.
I wouldn't be averse to cameos from Galavant & Isabella or Richard & Roberta (in fact, I think Richard & Roberta cameos are pretty much unavoidable, now that they're high king and queen and having a goddamn dragon), but I also think their stories were very nicely wrapped up and there's no reason to give them lots of plot time in this prospective new season. More time for Maddalena's lessons in evil wizardry!
