21 – Sequels – Have you ever written a sequel to a fic you wrote, and if so, why, and if not, how do you feel about sequels?
Yes, all the time. Sometimes I even write fics with the intention of writing sequels, because I want to explore multiple facets of an idea but don’t necessarily have an overarching plot that would tie it all together into one chaptered fic.
Plus, at least theoretically, each fic in the sequence stands alone (although this has basically gone out the window in Reciprocity). So if I run out of steam on an idea (as with the Eponine lives AU I was writing), I don’t feel bad about abandoning it, because I’m not leaving things hanging: the stories are connected, but nonetheless complete in themselves.
