18 – Where do you get the most inspiration for your fics (aka "bunnies") from?

A significant number of my fics are actually responses to exchange prompts, so in many cases the inspiration comes from that. It's been ages since I've done an exchange. Maybe I should sign up for trickortreatex to try to ease myself back into it before Yuletide. I've been writing Captain America fic for so long, I'm utterly out of practice at anything else...

For fandoms where I've written multiple fics, my ideas often grow out of discussions about the fics and/or canon with other fans, either in the comments on the fics or in chat rooms or what have you.

Do trickortreatex! I really liked it last year. The format of 300-word minimums makes it a lot lower pressure.

I'm not very good at writing really short stories, but it is tempting to get back into the exchange game. Maybe I'll have a look-see at what's nominated.
