osprey_archer15 – Warnings – What do you feel it most important to warn for, and what's the strangest thing you've warned for in a fic?
AO3 has special warning labels for rape/noncon, underage, graphic depictions of violence, and major character death, and I warn for those things and for subsets of those things. So, for instance, if the characters discuss a past rape in a fic, I don’t use the warning label itself, but I’ll tag the fic for Past Rape/Noncon and add a note at the end of the fic to mention that. I think I’ve also tagged for Canonical Character Death for a fic where the story occurred after that character’s death, but was pretty much all about its aftermath.
Generally speaking I only warn for those four things, so I don’t think I’ve ever warned for anything particularly strange.
