osprey_archer14 – Ratings – how high are you comfortable with going? Have you ever written higher? If you're comfortable with NC-17, have you ever been shocked by finding that the story you're writing is G-rated instead?
I’m probably most comfortable with PG-13 and below, but I have written higher. I just need to psych myself up for it and get over the initial hurdle of embarrassment as I write. Once I get into a groove, then it’s not too hard to keep going.
I don't think I've ever been surprised by the final rating for anything, though. I usually have a good idea beforehand just how porny something is going to get as I'm writing.
