12 – Have you ever attempted an "adaptation" fic of a favorite book or movie but set in a different fandom?

I’m trying to think what this would look like. I guess like doing an adaptation of a fairy tale, like Beauty and the Beast but with Steve and Bucky? Or another pairing of your choice, I’m sure there’s an interesting Steve/Tony fic in here where they both think they’re the Beast. Tony probably ends up winning that one through sheer conviction of his own beastliness.

In any case, I don’t think I’ve written anything like this.

I love the idea of a Beauty and the Beast retelling where they both think they're the beast. I bet one could do a really interesting story with that. And yeah, I could see a Steve/Tony story working with that premise.

(and yes, I think that's what an "adaptation" fic is too - people often do Pride and Prejudice ones that seem to fit this bill!)

I bet a lot of fandoms could yield an interesting Beauty and the Beast where they both think they're the beast retelling. What do you mean, you're the Beast? I'M obviously the Beast! No, I'm the Beast!

Hopefully they both realize they're being a little silly in the end.

It probably wouldn't work as well if they both think they're Beauty, though. Be a bit of a nasty surprise to realize their partner cast them as the Beast.
