Yesterday, I got paid $6.50 an hour to watch The Muppets Take Manhattan.

Or rather, I got paid $6.50 an hour to sit in the tutoring center just in case anyone wanted to be tutored, which they didn't because it's the first week of class and only insane people (like my Developmental Psych professor) have assigned anything more complicated than a haiku. Ergo, I watched movies.

You know what would be really useful? Flash cards with all those little Latin phrases (like ergo) that I always want to use but can't, because I only sort of know what they mean and if/when I use one incorrectly in public my entire erudite facade will come crashing down. I should totally get on that.

...Or I could watch more Muppets. I think I hear Gonzo calling me now.

Also, some links:

Via [livejournal.com profile] silksieve: Corgis barking the Happy Birthday song. Possibly I should have waited until someone had a birthday to post this, but I just couldn't wait.

And, via [livejournal.com profile] matociquala: The best book review ever.

I obviously had an alcohol problem and a deep and intense disrespect for the postal system, but even more importantly I was ignoring the very fabric of our metaphysical reality and inviting destructive influences into my life.

And it only gets better from there.

I keep going back and forth between "It must be a hoax" and "But it's so much better if it's not." I mean, really. Defecating on mailboxes?

Oh, it's got to be a hoax, surely.

My parents are thinking about getting a Corgi puppy while we still have an older dog around to help train it. Dad & I have already decided that if we do, she is going to be named Gwen (because, you know, Welsh).

When I was a small child I always wanted a corgi, because we had a picture book called The Corgiville Fair which involved anthromorphic corgies having goat races and eating tremendous amount of county-fair type food. I was very impressed.

I still have a special place in my heart for corgies, although I now realize that they don't usually sell cotton candy.

Someone once gave me a calendar that had a different Latin term every day.

That's pretty cool.

And welcome, because I don't think I've seen you around here before. Who are you?
