I tried to resist
trickortreatex, but in between them
carmarthen and
entwashian have corrupted me. It looks so easy and simple and fun!
So I hope you, O writer/artist, have a good time with this!

Art
• Pairing art is fine, but I would prefer it to be work safe.
• Cuddling is always adorable. Always.
• I also like portraits! This is particularly so for the book prompts, most of which don’t have a lot of fanart.
• I'm fond of pictures of people reading.
American Girls: Rebecca: Rebecca
I love the American Girl books with a ridiculous love (I have a whole tag devoted to them), and Rebecca is one of my favorites. (My series review is here) She’s just so plucky! She finds adventure everywhere she goes - no, not finds: she makes adventures with her own grit and liveliness.
“Rebecca celebrates Halloween” fic has the potential to be awesome, because you just know Rebecca would go wild with a holiday that involves putting on costumes. Or perhaps Rebecca and Ana get in some sort of scrape? Or maybe Rebecca goes out to Hollywood to visit Lily and Max? (IMAGINE REBECCA ON A TRAIN. You know she would befriend everyone.)
Even just “Rebecca reads Anne of Green Gables" (or another period-appropriate book) would be delightful. I could totally see her trying to reenact the scenes, roping Ana into the role of Diana.
Baby-Sitters Club: Ashley Wyeth
Oh, Ashley Wyeth, jewel of my soul. I would love to see a fic from Ashley’s POV - either showing some of the events in Claudia and the New Girl, or just showing her take on… anything, really. I feel that A Perfectly Ordinary Day in the Life of Ashley Wyeth would probably be fascinating (and probably rather poignant; maybe lonely?), because she has such an offbeat view of the world.
I also love her with Claudia, either as friends or lovers. In some ways they are perfect for each other. They speak the same language; Ashley never underestimates Claudia’s intelligence, and Claudia might be able to help Ashley interface with normal people if Ashley ever decides she wants to… but Ashley may never decide that she wants to, and I think as long as Ashley’s art is the most important (and ultimately only important) thing in the world for her, it’s going to get in the way of their relationship again and again and again.
Finally, I love art history, so if Ashley goes to an art museum to ponder your favorite painting, or melodramatically compares her relationship with Claudia to Van Gogh’s with Gauguin, I will love you forever and ever.
Les Miserables: Eponine
When I first saw this movie, my review basically went EPONINE EPONINE EPONINE, and my Eponine feelings have not changed. Eponine angsts about poverty! Eponine angsts about how much it sucks being a Thenardier! Eponine angsts just in general! Or Eponine experiences a brief moment of happiness because Gavroche steals her some brioche or Marius is nice to her or whatever. I am so there for all of it.
I am not usually a big fan of crack pairings, but I am super fond of Eponine/Cosette - or Eponine & Cosette as friends. Given their rotten childhood history and Marius, it seems impossible, but I find the idea of them overcoming that barrier really compelling. (This is the one time when I’m fine with a non-canonical character death: if you want Marius to die on the barricades instead of Eponine, thus removing the obstacle to Cosette and Eponine’s love, fine by me. Maybe they can bond over their tragic dead love.)
Pirates of the Caribbean: Syrena
I went to this movie for Johnny Depp, and then got absolutely blown away by the mermaid and the missionary and their bizarre impossible love affair. What happens after she drags him into the water?
But if their love doesn’t appeal to you, then I would also love mermaid worldbuilding fic about Syrena in the sea. What do mermaids do when they’re not drowning sailors? And why do they drown sailors, anyway? Is it for food or as a religious ritual? Are the men not drowned at all, but turned into mermen? Luscious seascape descriptions are a definite plus.
Queen's Thief: Gen, Costis, or Attolia
I adore this series endlessly: the style, sparse but evocative; the ancient/Renaissance/AU Greece setting; the characters - oh, the characters! I love Eugenides’ wit and trickery, and Attolia’s general imperious toughness, and Costis’ sense of duty and honor; and the intertwining of personal and political loyalty in these stories.
OH THE LOYALTY. Write anything about any of these characters being stupidly loyal to each other, and I will probably jump up and down shrieking with glee.
I adore the relationships between the characters. Attolia/Gen is this wonderful, compelling combination and adorable and FULL OF TRUST ISSUES. I also think Costis has a ridiculous adorable crush on Gen, so if you can write Costis/Gen that would be amazing, especially if you can make it make sense with Gen/Attolia. (Given that Costis is terrified of Attolia, I’m not sure how Costis/Attolia would work...but I am prettily easily convinced of these things, so if it speaks to you, go for it.)
If none of that floats your boat, then Eugenides Does Something Stupid and has to be rescued by his queen and/or his faithful bodyguard is probably good for endless entertainment.
Rome: Vorenus
How much do I love Vorenus, pigheadedly honorable Roman soldier with no discernible sense of humor? A lot! (I clearly have a type. Costis from the Queen’s Thief series is a more cheerful version of the same character.) I am not a huge fan of Vorenus/Pullo as a ship, but Pullo - or indeed anyone else - trying to jolly Vorenus along, and Vorenus being totally unjollified, is always great fun.
I also find Vorenus’s religious seriousness fascinating, so anything involving that - Vorenus at a Roman festival, or Vorenus dealing with other peoples’ gods or mystery cults - would be great. (This is also a lovely opportunity for something atmospherically creepy. I love atmosphere.)
Mark Antony/Vorenus is the dirtybadwrong pairing of my heart. I will read basically anything that involves Antony abusing his position to convince Vorenus to sleep with him. Drunken debauchery? Promises of promotions that may or may not materialize? Whining at Vorenus until Vorenus is like “Fuck it, okay”? (Antony is the whiniest. You know this to be true.) I am so there for all of it.
