Oh, man. I loved me some Chip & Dale: Rescue Rangers when I was a little kid. Adorable rodents having adventures! I rewatched it a few years ago, and it actually holds together pretty well - they do a lot of episodes that are homages to other genres, which I appreciate more now that I’ve run into those genres in the wild, so to speak.
We also watched a lot of Nick at Nite when I was a kid, so I saw some older shows: I Love Lucy, Happy Days, and Bewitched, which was my very very favorite. I loved Samantha Stevens’ practicality and kindness and her magical nose-twitching. Given that Daren caused most of the problems in the show by being a sexist ass, I’m not sure why I was (and remain) so on board with Sam and Darren’s marriage; maybe because the episodes generally end up with Daren compromising so Sam can save the day.
Also, Endora’s mischievousness. Always fun!
And when I was ten or eleven, I was all about So Weird, or at least the seasons of So Weird with Fi; the replacement heroine in season 3 just wasn’t as good. She seemed so sunny and cheerful and not Fi. I guess it makes sense that if you have to switch protagonists, you should make the replacement protag very different from the first, but I loved the show as much because of Fi’s intensity as because of all the supernatural happenings, so it didn’t really work for me.
