osprey_archer | Happy Things, Day 6

Happy things: I spent half an hour in the stuffed animal aisle at a local store today, finding the cutest possible stuffed animal for a friend who's had a rotten, rotten year. I ended up getting a purple creature, which may have represented a sugar glider.

The friend named the widget Cheburashka and spent the rest of the evening cuddling it. I think that means the mission was a success.

Also, I keep checking my email in hopes that the pinch hits for Yuletide will start flowing in, now that deadline is passed. I wanna write another story!

Speaking of stories. Today I poked around on a Pushing Daisies story I've been working on for over a month. I was hoping to keep it reasonably short, in the 3000 word range, but it just wouldn't come together.

So finally I said, "Fine. You can have your five act structure and 6000 words. See if I care!"

I swear the story purred.
