osprey_archerI like this meme going around. It has no questions and it means I have to post for the next eight days, which will perhaps wrench me out of my slothfulness.
The meme:
The rules are that for 8 days you have to post something that made you happy that day.
Today is easy: I turned in my Yuletide story. :) Now I just need tosnag a pinch hit so I can join the panic-stricken party bask in my glory.
Also, I have only two episodes left of Season 2 Dexter.
I'm hoping that Lila gets hit by a bus. I usually don't hate fictional characters - dislike, yes, but hate is awfully strong - but for Lila I'll make an exception. Every time she walks onscreen I want a safe to fall out of the sky and crush her and her evil schemes.
It is perhaps unfair to hate Lila and not Dexter, given Dexter kills people and Lila - well, actually, Lila did kill someone, but that was a side effect of getting something she wanted, not an end in itself. It bothers me, I guess, that Lila so obviously doesn't care a twitch about anyone. Dexter, no matter how much he protests to the contrary, does care about a few specific people - just not people in general. He has a heart and possibly even a conscience, just not any feeling of common humanity.
Possibly. My Grand Theory of Dexter is still germinating.
Anyway. I would say I want Dexter to kill Lila, but while Lila's vile she clearly doesn't meet the Code of Harry (and while Harry's pretty vile too, Dexter really needs that code to keep him sane), so that's not really an option. Maybe she'll accidentally immolate herself? Maybe she OD'd on Rohypnol? Maybe she'll be eaten by an alligator in the Everglades, a la Magnolia?
