Miscellanea
Oct. 30th, 2008 10:25 amI absolutely do not have time for NaNoWriMo this year, nor do I have any ideas worth NaNoing, which of course means I absolutely must participate. Maybe in my stark raving terror will finally find a plot for the slashtastic fantasy about the counterfeit-fighting dynamic duo. (They're kind of like Man from UNCLE, except with counterfeiters instead of THRUSH.)
Perhaps I will just write lots and lots of fanfic. Does that count?

A Tardis, made of beads. I am dead impressed.

Amusingly (in a “If I don’t laugh I will beat my laptop with a hammer” kind of way), photos saved on iPhoto and uploaded to LJ do not show up on any computers but mine. I think Apple’s fanatical market share is best explained through brainwashing, because I have not been deeply impressed by my machine’s efficacy.
To make myself feel better (and test if this method of photo posting works better), another one of those Edwardian era Russian pictures I tried to put up a few days ago. This time, it will show up, or the computer is going to become acquainted with a hacksaw.

Edited to add: if you can't see the picture, can you tell me? Because I am ready and waiting and hopeful with the hacksaw.

Date: 2008-10-31 12:15 am (UTC)Plus I would be boring and everyone would stop reading me and then I would be sad. :(
Do you have any fic requests? I can't promise I will write them but I need starting points.

Date: 2008-10-31 07:40 am (UTC)I would never stop reading you, but I might stop responding. ;)
As far as fic requests...man, I'm easy to please. A little Owen, maybe a little Ianto, a little porn if you're feeling frisky. As a prompt though, how about Owen and Ianto from "Adam"? Owen's completely in love with Tosh, but what if he weren't...
It's possible that I shouldn't have had hot (super) chocolate and cookies for supper.

Date: 2008-10-31 06:43 pm (UTC)You know, for a guy who has the ability to implant memories at will, Adam has awfully modest goals. He could take over a small country and build himself an adoring harem, but instead he contents himself with Torchwood and Tosh.

Date: 2008-10-31 07:16 pm (UTC)It was mostly an observation that geek!Owen and Ianto would be hot. And, actually, if I were Adam, Tosh isn't exactly a bad pic. I wonder, though, if he could manager to take over anything larger than Torchwood--he had to maintain the memories regularly through touch, right? It seems like anything more than a handful of people would be out of his range. ...maybe he could control the right handful of people and take over said country.

Date: 2008-10-30 05:24 pm (UTC)anyway if you do it, i'll totally cheer you on! and make icons with "go away, it's november. (nanowrimo time!)" or something equally helpful on them.
the tardis thing is AMAZING.
also, i can see the picture! it's pretty! spare your laptop! ; )

Date: 2008-10-31 12:12 am (UTC)I may do a modified NaNo, because the full thing really would probably drive me insane. I just can't write without going back to edit - stories just don't coalesce chronologically, I have to be able to skip back and change things.
Of course if you do that too much in a novel you end up with a twisted mess, so. It's a problem.

Date: 2008-10-31 12:18 am (UTC)I've always loved beading projects - looking at them, I mean, I lack both the patience and the dexterity to make my own beaded Tardises. They're so nifty and intricate.
