Here is film footage from Edwardian London. It's fascinating, especially given I love the Edwardian and Victorian eras. They're unfairly maligned in the popular consciousness; the Victorians were strange and contradictory and wonderful, and the suggestion that they put trousers on piano legs is a baseless slander.

ochre54 showed me these beautiful photos of 1890s Russia, which are in color because the photographer used multiple filters on his camera.

The style of photography makes the pictures odd, ethereal, and very beautiful. I bet they'd make beautiful icons.
