I've requested mostly gen & femslash for this challenge, though I also like het & slash & OT3s. I’m not really looking for tragedy and despair, but I do love deliciously bittersweet fic. However, fluff and rainbows and happy endings are fine too!

• Characters who understand each other, even if they sometimes drive each other up the wall
• Characters who are passionate about something (aside from just each other) – who love their work, their art, their stamp-collecting, anything
• Friendship
• Loyalty, especially characters doing stupidly amazing things out of loyalty for each other
• Banter
• Hurt/comfort fics
• Cuddling
• “Five things…” stories

Dislikes
• Character bashing
• Incest (within the nuclear family. If you ship Lydia & Mary, I am cool with that.)

1. Code Name Verity: Julie Beaufort-Stuart, Maddie Brodatt

THIS BOOK OH MY HEART. I don’t want a fix-it for the Event, but I would love something set before: Maddie and Julie having a lovely time together, riding around the countryside or having tea or just chatting by the fireside. And possibly making out.

I don’t tend to see Maddie & Julie as having a full-blown romantic relationship (not least because it’s the forties, there would be some angst, I do not think I can handle Maddie & Julie angst). But there’s definitely a romantic element to the intensity of their friendship, and I could see them exploring that physically without ever going quite far enough that they have to face that head-on. It could be very bittersweet.

Another thought: a tropetastic story involving Maddie & Julie cuddling for warmth would be amazing.

2. Les Miserables (2012): Éponine Thénardier, Euphrasie "Cosette" Fauchelevant

I kind of want some Eponine/Cosette, or Eponine & Cosette friendship. They meet, they talk, they hash out their terrible childhood relationship – they somehow end up making out?

But if you can’t think of a way to make that work (it’s a hard pairing! I can’t figure out how to do it) I’d be just as happy with fic about Eponine being a BAMF, because I love me some Eponine.

My Eponine feels let me show you them! I recognize that Eponine/Cosette is a tough pairing, given that they never meet as adults in the movie and are in love with the same man. Maybe Marius dies on the barricades and Eponine tells Cosette (because who else would let her know) and...things develop? It would be like an OT3. With a ghost.

Alternative thought: maybe Eponine gets her bright cross-dressing idea earlier and becomes a student!

3. New Girl: Jessica Day, Cece Meyers

I love that New Girl is so much a show about friendship, but I feel like Cece and Jess’s gets short shrift compared to the boys, so I’d love to see their friendship explored. Maybe pranks? Maybe stories from their high school or college years? Maybe they go on a road trip!

I love this show's sense of humor and quirky style and bizarrely convoluted drinking games. I could see Jess and Cece playing truth or dare some night when the boys are out and ending up in a completely ridiculous situation because they keep saying "Dare" so they don't have to talk about their feelings about Nick and Schmidt, respectively.

And I wouldn't mind at all if the fic involved Cece smacking Schmidt upside the head. I like Schmidt, but I feel he would definitely benefit from a little smacking.

And a road trip would be kind of amazing. Because seriously, road trip.

4. Lizzie Bennet Diaries: Charlotte Lu, Jane Bennet, Lizzie Bennet, Lydia Bennet, Mary Bennet

THESE GIRLS I LOVE THEM ALL. Fret not, I don’t expect you to fit all of them in one fic: anything about any of these characters interacting would be glorious.

In particular, I miss Charlotte and Mary! I get why the videos have focused on the Bennet sisters dealing with it, but I would love to see Charlotte comforting Lizzie or Mary comforting Lydia (or trying to; I bet she'd be adorkably awkward at it) during the whole sex tape debacle.

But if you just want to write the Bennet Sisters Have a Picnic or something, that's also cool! I could see little!Jane convincing her sisters to have a teddy bear picnic with her or something.

Seriously, I miss Charlotte and Mary. It would be great to see them supporting their respective friends in their time of need. (Charlotte could even be there for Lizzie after the present debacle with Lydia: she has a little sister herself, she could give Lizzie good advice that Lizzie would of course ignore.) OR! - perhaps they could team up! I could see Charlotte's dry wit meshing well with Mary's sardonic sense of humor.

On a lighter note, fic about the Bennet girls in their childhood (with bonus Charlotte!) might be adorable. Think of the birthday parties! The pranks pulled! Lizzie trying to put on a play, with Charlotte on special effects and Lydia insisting that she has to be the star and someone spilling punch on the costumes that Jane so carefully made! The possibilities are endless.
