ATLA is seriously one of the best pieces of visual media I've ever seen. It's beautiful, it's well-written, the characters are great, the world is intriguing and well-realized, the story arcs are solid, and there are very, very few false notes. Like, staggeringly few. It is as close to perfect as any TV show I've ever seen, I think.
Also it has one of my most bulletproof canon het couples of all time and space. I just want to draw sparkly hearts around the whole show.
(Sadly, I cannot say the same for Legend of Korra, which I had high hopes for. Instead of being written and directed by a large and diverse team, it was pretty much a four-person show, and I think that hurt it a lot. It still had some good elements, but I was kind of disappointed.)
