December Writing and January Goals
Dec. 30th, 2022 10:14 amThis month I’ve written a little bit of this and a little bit of that. No great forward motion on any one project, but at I feel less frustrated about writing than I have for the last few months, and hopefully my ability to structure long-form projects will start to come back to me… “come back to me” I say, as if this was a skill that I had and lost, rather than an eternal struggle.
In January I would like to make progress toward a draft of Fritzi & Magdalena’s story, because (1) I actually do have an outline for that one!, and (2) these poor girls have been waiting for SO long, longer than anyone except Chris and Josh (who face the perhaps insuperable barrier of not being attached to a plot), and it would be so nice to finally tell their story and have done.

littlerhymes I have decided to set a goal of 100 words a day, on the theory that 100 words is low enough to feel doable and perhaps once the document is open my fingers will slip and I might occasionally write 200 words by mistake… The outline is only eight chapters, about the length of A Garter as a Lesser Gift, and I have a good draft for the first chapter, so theoretically even if I only write that prescribed 100 words a day I will have a draft in about eight months. WE SHALL SEE.
