July Writing and August Plans
Jul. 31st, 2022 09:55 amAfter faffing around for the first half of July, I dove into a “Gawain and the Green Knight” retelling where the Knights of the Round Table are RAF pilots. Just hit 20,000 words today, and I think it will top out between 25,000 and 30,000. Short but sweet.
I’m contemplating an Arthur/Guenevere/Lancelot companion piece, although this is hampered by the fact that I would have to actually come up with a plot, the standard Arthurian plot in this instance being the opposite of “happy throuple.” I'd like it to be a little uncanny, too, to fit with the Green Knight aesthetic... Oh, well, we'll see if something comes to me. There is a lot to be said for a story like “Gawain and the Green Knight” that hands you the plot on a silver platter!
