A week ago I met up with friends to see Parasite at the Artcraft Theater, which even at the time felt like a last hurrah - last chance for some time to see a movie in the theater, and also to see these particular friends again, as they live two hours away (the Artcraft is sort of equidistant for us) and one of them is a hospital nurse.
So we had dinner at an excellent little sushi place that we had never been to before, and then we saw the movie. The theater was nearly full, which is so rare for a foreign film - I attended a My Neighbor Totoro showing at this theater which was not nearly as crowded. (Of course, My Neighbor Totoro is neither new nor an Oscar winner, but still.)
And of course the film itself was amazing. I went into it mostly unspoiled, and I think that enhances the experience, so I’m going to put further thoughts ( behind a spoiler cut. )
