Fic: Kissing Lessons

littlerhymes and I have been doing a reread of the Anne of Green Gables series, and as we’ve gone along, I have become increasingly convinced that bisexual!Anne is not so much a theory as a stone cold canon fact (albeit one that Montgomery probably did not intend). She just falls in love with so! Many! Girls! Consider:
Diana Barry, of course! (The beginning of Anne of Ingleside has been balm to my little shipper heart, which has been starved for Diana content since Anne of the Island.)
Then she goes to Queens and decides that Stella and Priscilla will be her best friends because they are the prettiest girls in the room.
Then she goes to Redmond and makes another friend, Philippa, when they meet IN A GRAVEYARD, which is an A++ romantic location in Anne of Green Gables terms.
Then she becomes a teacher for a few years and becomes determined to befriend Katherine Brooke, even though Katherine is totally grumpy for the first two years of their acquaintance, and while in this case it’s not because Katherine is so darn pretty (although Anne definitely warms to her appearance once they become friends) I feel like the fact that she’s so very set on being friends that she invites Katherine back to Green Gables before they’ve even really bonded says something.
And then! And then. ON HER VERY WEDDING NIGHT, Anne sees Leslie Moore standing on the seashore, and is so struck by her beautiful golden hair and her figure and the splash of a crimson sash and her waist and her “splendid, resentful eyes” that she determines then and there that they shall be friends, and they are! And Anne spends whole evenings just staring at Leslie’s face, too awestruck to speak!!
...I am not certain why the pairing that is definitely infidelity is the one that finally moved me to fic, but shippers gotta ship, I guess? Surely Gilbert knows this about Anne. Let’s pretend he’s fine with it.
