Anonymous donors pay off Kmart layaway accounts - which is exactly what it sounds like: anonymous donors have been paying off the balances on Kmart layaway accounts, especially for families with young children so they can have toys for Christmas.
Also, A Very Calvin & Hobbes Christmas, a Youtube video of Calvin's fiendishly inventive snowmen set to music. I think it's too bad Calvin & Hobbes was before the day of webcomics - can you imagine what kind of amazing stories might have happened if Watterson weren't constrained by the newspaper comic format?
