I am made of win!
Nov. 17th, 2011 08:55 pmWrote my Statement of Purpose today. Hooray! This means I may actually finish my grad school applications.
(I wasn't seriously worried that I wouldn't. But it was getting to be a near thing.)
I'm definitely applying to Yale and IU, because they have the best programs for American history between 1880 and 1920, with a focus on women's history, and women artists, and literature and imagination and fairyland and the Uplifting Power of Nature (tm) and, well, everything. I am so in love with this whole time period that I want to know EVERYTHING ABOUT IT EVER.
Probably there will be a third application - I've narrowed it down to three possibles - but I'm not thinking about it until I get the big two done.

As a side project, I've been reading/rereading the American Girl books. I'm starting with the new Rebecca series. It's set in 1914! It's about a Jewish girl! From Russia! Who loves movies! She even reads Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm, oh my God oh my God oh my God! (I should write a post about Rebecca of Sunnybrook Farm.) It's like they designed this series for me!

Also, holy smokes, I write a lot of posts about books. Maybe I should diversify a bit.
