I could write a long, well-reasoned post about why everyone ought to watch Community. It's hilarious, I would say; not just funny, but witty. It's fast-paced, and zany, and sometimes so strange that it drifts into magical realism.

And most of all, I would write - Community has the most splendid ensemble cast on television! The characters differ in race, religion, politics, and basic temperament, but form a bond regardless. Yet there's always a sense of the fragility of such a disparate group. The show gives the sense that diversity is worthwhile - but also that diversity can be really damn hard.

And fandom's favorite characters are Abed, the pop culture-obsessed half-Palestian half-Polish film director, and his BFF Troy, the secretly dorky black football player. Most of the episodes end with them doing something silly together - rapping, doing a fake morning show, hanging Christmas ornaments off Troy... ("Oh Christmas Troy, oh Christmas Troy...how lovely are your branches")

But why waste time writing about all that? All I need to tell you is that COMMUNITY HAS A ZOMBIE EPISODE. A ZOMBIE EPISODE, PEOPLE. And two - no, three! - episodes of paintball warfare, one of which is an homage to Star Wars! HOW CAN YOU POSSIBLY SAY NO?

Also, have an AWESOME AWESOME Glee fic.

Do You Believe in Magic, by [livejournal.com profile] tamakito. Background Klaine, but mostly it's pure distilled gennish AWESOME.

Wes was becoming increasingly convinced that Kurt Hummel was a Disney princess. It was insane and, as ideas went, indicative of unhealthy thought patterns, but once it occurred to him, he couldn’t make it go away. All of the signs were there. Kurt had cartoonishly good looks. He had big, sparkling eyes; preternaturally amazing, poofy hair; skin like fresh-poured cream. He had a voice like a bell and used it to deal with his emotions through song. He had a loving father and a deceased mother. He had been forced away from his tiny town because he was too amazing for them to handle and had dreams too big, so they had treated him like a freak. He had an unsettling ability to wrap people around his finger given half a chance.

AND IT ONLY GETS BETTER.

The hot chocolate seems to be activating the CAPSLOCK! centers in my brain. Oops.
